What can be done?

Take a step back. During the interview process, a concept that kept being repeated to us was to take a break. We are often so consumed by technology that it is forgotten that there are other things to life.  If you were reading a book and your eyes started to hurt, would you keep reading? If the answer is no, why wouldn't you treat technology the same way. Optometrist recommend abiding by the 20x20x20 rule.  Every 20 minutes look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This will help prevent damage to your eyes from occurring, as well as provide your mind a short break from technology. These 20 second breaks can also be a good time to get up and stretch. Taking breaks to get up and stretch while using technology can help prevent injuries to muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons.

We sat down with Jim Smith, the Principal and VP of Sales at Office Environments, to talk about what equipment is available to help prevent injuries from occurring.
